Happy Summer to you!  The sun is finally shining in northwest Washington and the radiance of warmth is contagious.  As we round off July and head into the second half of 2011 I want to give you a quick update:

Galileo said "Wine is water held together by sunlight" so this Saturday, LivLife is bringing you: "A Sip of Sunlight and a Taste of Hope".  Join us for wine tasting at Vartanyan Estate Winery paired with local artisan cheeses and chocolates for your decadent pleasures.  Come hang out, drink wine and listen to the sweet melodies of talented musicians like Kit Nelson and Misty Flowers.

LivFest is back!  This Saturday, we will be jammin all day at the Village Green in Fairhaven to the sounds of 14 live bands!  We have an INCREDIBLE set list with everything from a Jimmy Hendrix cover-band to live accoustic-folk.  Even Kris Orlowski is coming up from Seattle to perform!  This is gonna be Huge.  Starting at 10:30am we'll have the grill, popcorn and cotton candy, facepainting, arts and crafts, music and much more.  The whole day is free and family friendly.  Elmo the Balloon Man is going to be handing out balloon critter, while kiddos rocket around in a handful of Bouncy Houses!  From the sidewalk chalk station to the new LivFest apparel, LivFest 2011 is Off The Hook!

Well it's been an exciting month!  I am sure that you are in the thralls of spring excitement so I'll keep this brief and informative:  May 11, 2011 was Olivia's 7th Birthday!  WAHOOOO!!!!  Our tiny creature has grown immensely since the surgery so much of her birthday shwag revolved around new clothes to grow into, educational products to aid her fierce appetite for knowledge and ...brace yourselves....

On Friday night, after work, I stopped by the store on my way home; on Saturday morning, when I went out to my car, there was a receipt under the door handle. It wasn’t my receipt but it was from the same date, time and place that I had been the night before. It appears that some cowardly creeper wanted me to know that he saw me shopping and now he also knows where I live. -For the past few days I’ve been on a rollercoaster of emotion and activity trying to find the proper place to put this in my head. …but the truth is, other than the obvious acts of increasing security and awareness, I just have to keep going as if it never happened. Fear is not a comfortable companion.

One of my favorite quotes of all times says: "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or find it not." -Ralph Waldo Emerson.  Through this campaign I have met a woman who embodies the very meaning of beauty.  Lynell Hildebrand of Artistic Images has a gift for observing a moment, sifting through the noise and capturing just the pure, radiant beauty that remains when all the confusion of life is removed.  Her abilities to carry beauty in her heart, to seek it in others, and to share it with the world is what makes her extraordinary beyond measure.
